Creating a World That Works for All

Sunday’s edition of The New York Times came out with a strong critique of the Amazon Fire, the first major public slamming I’ve seen.

My own view is that Bezos will get it right eventually, both through short-term software upgrades and the next versions in 2012 and beyond, so the Amazon Fire will not go down in flames as some in the article suggest.  This product is a key strategic e-commerce portal to the whole Amazon shopping mega-store, not just a color tablet e-reader.

To Amazon’s credit, it is displaying many critical customer reviews of the Kindle Fire in its own Amazon Reviews section.

I recently played with my neighbors new Kindle Fire and liked it a lot. Even my large fat fingers (one of the article's criticisms) worked okay on the touch screen.  I don't think this 7" tablet size is going away anytime soon.
